Submission Guidelines for IJGS
International Journal of Golf Science (IJGS) welcomes a range of submissions related to golf. Contributions may be about the golfer, golf equipment and technology, golf analytics, golf business and management, or the golf course.
Standards of good research will be honored in the review process. Depending on the type of research being conducted, submissions must reflect good scientific procedure and the best practices of qualitative methodologies. Review papers will also be considered along with Research Notes.
All submissions will be reviewed by the Editor and/or Editorial Board and/or other peers in the respective fields. The Editor reserves the right to return manuscripts without full review if any submission does not comply with basic editorial and scholarly standards of the International Journal of Golf Science.
The preferred mode of submission will be through the Human Kinetics ScholarOne Manuscript Central online review system by clicking here.
Manuscripts should be created in Microsoft Word and conform to the reference, endnote, and bibliographical style according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) (sixth edition). Manuscripts employing alternative formats will be accepted for review, although stylistic revision will be required before publication.
All manuscripts must be accompanied by a cover letter as an introduction to the submission and also indicating that the work has not been submitted to any other publication simultaneously.
All articles must be preceded by an abstract of 100-150 words to include a sentence regarding application. All segments of the manuscript must be double-spaced including the abstract, references, and tables. Label clearly any tables and graphs. Number all pages in the upper right corner in this order: title page, abstract, text, references, acknowledgments if any, figure captions, tables, and figures. Include the application of the research at the end of the paper.
Tables and figures must be crisp, clear, and properly labeled. Do not submit low-resolution electronic files. Digital images should be 300 dpi at full size for photos and 600 dpi for line art. Format tables in the table function of your word-processing program rather than aligning columns in text with tabs and spaces or using text boxes. Total number of words including tables, figures, acknowledgements, references, etc., not to exceed 6,000 unless justification is provided. References not to exceed 36 unless justification is provided.
Authors of manuscripts accepted for publication must transfer copyright to Human Kinetics Publishers, Inc. A copyright transfer form will be provided prior to publication.
Please email all submission questions to m.r.toms@bham.ac.uk.
